Houston BOMA and IREM Houston Cornhole Clash Raises $10,000 for Industry Scholarships

Awards & Recognition, Events & Programs,

The Houston Building Owners and Managers Association (Houston BOMA) and the Institute of Real Estate Management Houston Chapter (IREM Houston) teamed up for the first time since 2008 to host their first-ever “Houston BOMA vs. IREM Houston Cornhole Clash” on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Pitch 25 in Houston, Texas. The friendly cornhole competition brought together 150 members from both organizations to raise money for the Houston BOMA Foundation and IREM Foundation.

The single-elimination style tournament consisted of 16 teams, with eight representing Houston BOMA and eight representing IREM Houston. Each team played four rounds of cornhole amongst others in their organization, until there was one winner left standing for each: Houston BOMA’s HB Mechanical Team, represented by Jake Borsos and Anthony Fernandez, and IREM Houston’s Calico/JLL Team, represented by Robert Tyler and Chase Crawford.

After one final round of play, the winner was crowned: Houston BOMA’s team, HB Mechanical, took home first place. Congratulations to Jake, Anthony, and Houston BOMA on their big win!

Houston BOMA would like to thank IREM Houston, our event sponsors, Alpha Paving, Pyramid Waterproofing, and Servpro Team Wilson, and everyone who joined us for their support. We are proud to share that we raised over $10,000, which will be split between the organizations’ respective Foundations to fund educational scholarships for the next generation of CRE leaders.
