Houston BOMA Members Learn to Stay Ahead of Reputational Risk

Posted By: Laura Diaz Events & Programs,

Houston BOMA members recently gathered for the September Membership Meeting, which featured an insightful session on a topic that affects every property team: protecting and managing reputation.

The program featured Jeff McKissack, who guided attendees through practical approaches to safeguarding their properties, tenants, staff, and organizations from reputational risk. The session highlighted the wide range of challenges today's property teams must be ready to address quickly and strategically.

During the presentation, attendees learned how to proactively manage their property's reputation, control the narrative during challenging situations, and reduce the impact of a crisis before it affects operations and leasing opportunities. The session also emphasized the value of shifting from a reactive to a proactive communication approach, giving property professionals the tools to strengthen crisis preparedness, protect stakeholder trust, and navigate high-pressure situations with confidence.

The meeting also served as a donation drive for Houston BOMA's community partner, 419 Emancipation, a 222-bed residential homelessness resource center that helps individuals build the stability and independence they need for a fresh start. Members generously brought new, unused items such as socks, undergarments, pajamas, sweatpants, shower shoes, and hygiene products, with each contribution going directly toward helping a neighbor get back on their feet. Houston BOMA thanks everyone who contributed to this meaningful effort.

Houston BOMA also extends its thanks to Chamberlin Roofing and Waterproofing for generously underwriting the meeting and helping make this valuable luncheon possible.
