Houston BOMA Hosts June Membership Luncheon on Homelessness and CRE Impact

Community, Events & Programs,

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, The Houston Building Owners and Managers Association (Houston BOMA) welcomed commercial real estate professionals, public officials, and community leaders to The Briar Club for an impactful June Membership Luncheon focused on homelessness in Houston and its intersection with the CRE industry.

The event featured a powerful panel discussion with key voices from agencies actively addressing the city’s homelessness challenges:

  • Kelly Young, President and CEO, Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County

  • Michael Nichols, Director, Houston Housing and Community Development Department

  • Larry Satterwhite, Director, Mayor's Office of Public Safety and Homeland Security

  • Tory Gunsolley, Chief Programs Officer, Harris County Housing and Community Development

Attendees gained valuable insights into current initiatives, collaborative solutions, and long-term strategies to address homelessness through public-private partnerships. The conversation explored how CRE professionals can support these efforts and help create more sustainable, inclusive communities.

In addition to the panel, Houston BOMA was honored to welcome Council Members Willie Davis and Sallie Alcorn, who made special appearances in support of the discussion and its broader implications for Houston’s future.

Thank you to Velociti Services for generously underwriting the event and making this important dialogue possible.
